Clinical Pearl
Alexandrite and Diode Lasers are the most efficacious in treating Fitzpatrick skin types 1 thru 3 and typically type 4 patients. Some type 5 patients will achieve better results with these lasers than the Nd-YAG lasers depending on the patient’s hair characteristics, i.e. hair shaft diameter and composition of melanin within the shaft.
